Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup of unsalted butter
  • 4 ounces of dark chocolate
  • 1 cup of powdered sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 6 tablespoons of all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and grease four ramekins.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter and dark chocolate together in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth.
  3. Stir in the powdered sugar until well combined.
  4. Add the eggs and egg yolks one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Stir in the flour, salt, and vanilla extract until just combined.
  6. Divide the batter evenly among the ramekins.
  7. Bake for 12-14 minutes, or until the edges are set but the center is still soft.
  8. Let the lava cakes cool for a few minutes before running a knife around the edges and inverting onto plates.
  9. Serve warm with a sprinkle of powdered sugar or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
