Spiced Sweet Potato Casserole Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups sweet potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Boil sweet potatoes in a large pot of water until tender, about 15 minutes. Drain and mash.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine mashed sweet potatoes, brown sugar, melted butter, milk, eggs, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Mix until well blended.
  4. Transfer mixture to a greased baking dish.
  5. Sprinkle chopped pecans on top (if using).
  6. Bake in preheated oven for 30 minutes, or until heated through and topping is golden brown.
  7. Remove from oven and let cool slightly before serving.
