Lentil Bake with Sage Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of green lentils
  • 2 cups of vegetable broth
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon of dried sage
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup of breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup of grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Rinse the lentils under cold water and drain.
  3. In a large saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  4. Add the chopped onion and garlic, sauté until softened.
  5. Add the lentils, vegetable broth, sage, salt, and pepper, and bring to a boil.
  6. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for about 25-30 minutes until lentils are tender.
  7. Transfer the lentil mixture to a baking dish.
  8. In a small bowl, mix the breadcrumbs and Parmesan cheese, then sprinkle over the lentil mixture.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, until the top is golden brown.
  10. Let it cool slightly before serving.
