Apple Pilaf with Basil Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 cup of Basmati rice
- 1 tablespoon of olive oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 2 apples, peeled and diced
- 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric powder
- 1/2 teaspoon of cumin powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup of fresh basil leaves, chopped
- 2 cups of vegetable broth
Instructions:
- Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and garlic, and sauté until fragrant.
- Add the diced apples and cook until slightly softened.
- Stir in the turmeric, cumin, salt, and pepper.
- Add the Basmati rice and cook for a few minutes until lightly toasted.
- Pour in the vegetable broth and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 20 minutes or until the rice is cooked through.
- Once the rice is cooked, fluff it with a fork and stir in the chopped basil leaves.
