Ingredients:
- 1 cup of basmati rice
- 2 leeks, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 cups of vegetable broth
- 2 tablespoons of maple syrup
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions:
Step 1: Prep the ingredients
Wash and thinly slice the leeks. Mince the garlic cloves.
Step 2: Sauté the leeks
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced leeks and garlic, and sauté until the leeks are soft and translucent.
Step 3: Add the rice
Add the basmati rice to the skillet and stir to coat the rice with the leeks and garlic.
Step 4: Cook the rice
Pour in the vegetable broth and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 15-20 minutes, or until the rice is cooked and the liquid is absorbed.
Step 5: Add the maple syrup
Once the rice is cooked, drizzle the maple syrup over the pilaf and gently mix to combine. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Step 6: Serve
Remove from heat and let the pilaf sit for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy your delicious Leek Pilaf with Maple Syrup!
