Leek Pilaf with Maple Syrup Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup basmati rice
  • 2 leeks, washed and thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cups vegetable broth
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Once the oil is hot, add the sliced leeks and sauté until they are soft and translucent, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add the basmati rice to the skillet and toast it for 2-3 minutes, stirring frequently.
  4. Pour in the vegetable broth and maple syrup. Season with salt and pepper and stir well.
  5. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat to low and cover the skillet. Let the pilaf simmer for about 15-20 minutes, or until the rice is cooked through and the liquid is absorbed.
  6. Remove the skillet from heat and let it sit, covered, for an additional 5 minutes.
  7. Fluff the pilaf with a fork before serving. Enjoy your delicious Leek Pilaf with Maple Syrup!
