BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 3 lbs pork shoulder
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 8 hamburger buns

Instructions:

1. Preparing the Pork:

  1. Trim excess fat from the pork shoulder and season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika.
  2. Place the pork shoulder in a slow cooker.
  3. In a bowl, mix together the BBQ sauce, chicken broth, brown sugar, and apple cider vinegar. Pour over the pork shoulder.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or until the pork is tender and easily shreds with a fork.

2. Shredding the Pork:

  1. Remove the cooked pork from the slow cooker and shred using two forks.
  2. Return the shredded pork to the slow cooker and mix with the cooking liquid.

3. Assembling the Sandwiches:

  1. Toast the hamburger buns in a skillet or oven.
  2. Spoon a generous amount of the BBQ pulled pork onto the bottom half of each toasted bun.
  3. Top with the remaining bun half and serve hot.
