Ingredients:
- 3 lbs pork shoulder
- 1 cup BBQ sauce
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 8 hamburger buns
Instructions:
1. Preparing the Pork:
- Trim excess fat from the pork shoulder and season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika.
- Place the pork shoulder in a slow cooker.
- In a bowl, mix together the BBQ sauce, chicken broth, brown sugar, and apple cider vinegar. Pour over the pork shoulder.
- Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or until the pork is tender and easily shreds with a fork.
2. Shredding the Pork:
- Remove the cooked pork from the slow cooker and shred using two forks.
- Return the shredded pork to the slow cooker and mix with the cooking liquid.
3. Assembling the Sandwiches:
- Toast the hamburger buns in a skillet or oven.
- Spoon a generous amount of the BBQ pulled pork onto the bottom half of each toasted bun.
- Top with the remaining bun half and serve hot.
