Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
  • 4 ounces bittersweet chocolate, chopped
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 large egg yolks
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F and butter four ramekins.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter and chocolate together in 30-second increments, stirring in between until smooth.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk the eggs, egg yolks, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Gradually whisk in the chocolate mixture, then fold in the flour and salt until just combined.
  5. Divide the batter evenly among the prepared ramekins.
  6. Bake for 12-14 minutes, or until the edges are set but the center is still slightly jiggly.
  7. Let the cakes cool for a few minutes, then run a knife around the edges and invert onto plates.
  8. Serve warm with a sprinkle of powdered sugar or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
