Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 pounds of apples (preferably Granny Smith)
  • 1/2 cup of sugar
  • 4 tablespoons of butter
  • 1 sheet of puff pastry

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Apples

Peel, core, and slice the apples into thin wedges.

2. Caramelize the Sugar

Spread the sugar evenly in a skillet over medium heat until it caramelizes. Add the butter and stir until melted.

3. Arrange the Apples

Place the apple slices in the skillet on top of the caramelized sugar and butter, in a circular pattern starting from the edges and working towards the center.

4. Cook the Tarte Tatin

Cover the skillet with a sheet of puff pastry and tuck it in around the edges. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F for 30-35 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and crispy.

5. Flip and Serve

Once cooked, carefully invert the skillet onto a serving plate, allowing the Tarte Tatin to release. Serve warm with a dollop of whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
