Ingredients
- 1 whole chicken, cut into pieces
- 2 cups buttermilk
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1 tablespoon pepper
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 quart vegetable oil, for frying
Instructions
- Marinate the chicken pieces in buttermilk for at least 1 hour.
- In a shallow dish, mix together flour, salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or deep fryer to 350°F (175°C).
- Dredge each chicken piece in the flour mixture, shaking off any excess.
- Carefully place the chicken pieces in the hot oil and fry until golden brown and cooked through, about 15-20 minutes.
- Transfer the fried chicken to a paper towel-lined plate to drain off excess oil.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
