Ingredients:
- 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
- 1 cup warm milk
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/3 cup margarine, melted
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 eggs
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 3 tbsp ground cinnamon
- 1/3 cup butter, softened
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions:
- Dissolve yeast: In a large mixing bowl, dissolve yeast in warm milk and let sit for about 10 minutes.
- Add ingredients: Add sugar, margarine, salt, eggs, and flour to the yeast mixture and mix well.
- Knead dough: Knead the dough on a floured surface until smooth, then place in a greased bowl and cover with a towel. Let it rise for about 1 hour.
- Roll out dough: Roll out the dough into a rectangle and spread the softened butter over it.
- Add filling: Mix brown sugar and cinnamon together and sprinkle over the dough. Add chopped nuts if desired.
- Roll it up: Roll the dough tightly and cut into 12 slices.
- Arrange in pan: Place the rolls in a greased baking pan and let rise for another 30 minutes.
- Bake: Preheat oven to 350°F and bake the cinnamon rolls for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
