Homemade Cinnamon Rolls Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup margarine, melted
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 3 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/3 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Dissolve yeast: In a large mixing bowl, dissolve yeast in warm milk and let sit for about 10 minutes.
  2. Add ingredients: Add sugar, margarine, salt, eggs, and flour to the yeast mixture and mix well.
  3. Knead dough: Knead the dough on a floured surface until smooth, then place in a greased bowl and cover with a towel. Let it rise for about 1 hour.
  4. Roll out dough: Roll out the dough into a rectangle and spread the softened butter over it.
  5. Add filling: Mix brown sugar and cinnamon together and sprinkle over the dough. Add chopped nuts if desired.
  6. Roll it up: Roll the dough tightly and cut into 12 slices.
  7. Arrange in pan: Place the rolls in a greased baking pan and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  8. Bake: Preheat oven to 350°F and bake the cinnamon rolls for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
