Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 slices of cheddar cheese
- 4 hamburger buns
- Lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles (optional toppings)
Instructions
- Preheat grill or skillet over medium heat
- Divide ground beef into 4 equal portions and shape into patties
- Season patties with salt and pepper
- Grill or cook patties for 4-5 minutes per side, or until desired level of doneness
- Place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty during the last minute of cooking
- Toast hamburger buns on the grill or skillet
- Assemble the burgers by placing a patty with cheese on the bottom bun
- Add desired toppings such as lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickles
- Top with the remaining bun and serve hot
