Classic Cheeseburger Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 slices of cheddar cheese
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • Lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles (optional toppings)

Instructions

  1. Preheat grill or skillet over medium heat
  2. Divide ground beef into 4 equal portions and shape into patties
  3. Season patties with salt and pepper
  4. Grill or cook patties for 4-5 minutes per side, or until desired level of doneness
  5. Place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty during the last minute of cooking
  6. Toast hamburger buns on the grill or skillet
  7. Assemble the burgers by placing a patty with cheese on the bottom bun
  8. Add desired toppings such as lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickles
  9. Top with the remaining bun and serve hot
