Classic Tiramisu Recipe
Ingredients:
- 6 large egg yolks
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup mascarpone cheese, softened
- 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup strong brewed coffee, cooled
- 1/4 cup coffee liqueur (optional)
- 24 ladyfinger cookies
- Cocoa powder, for dusting
Instructions:
- In a heatproof bowl set over a pot of simmering water, whisk together the egg yolks and sugar until pale and thick, about 5 minutes.
- Remove from heat and whisk in the mascarpone until smooth. Let cool slightly.
- In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
- Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until smooth and combined.
- In a shallow dish, combine the cooled coffee and coffee liqueur. Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture and arrange a layer of soaked cookies in the bottom of a serving dish.
- Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the cookies, then repeat with another layer of soaked cookies and the remaining mascarpone mixture.
- Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight, to set.
- Before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder for garnish. Enjoy!
