Classic Tiramisu Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 6 large egg yolks
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup mascarpone cheese, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup strong brewed coffee, cooled
  • 1/4 cup coffee liqueur (optional)
  • 24 ladyfinger cookies
  • Cocoa powder, for dusting

Instructions:

  1. In a heatproof bowl set over a pot of simmering water, whisk together the egg yolks and sugar until pale and thick, about 5 minutes.
  2. Remove from heat and whisk in the mascarpone until smooth. Let cool slightly.
  3. In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
  4. Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until smooth and combined.
  5. In a shallow dish, combine the cooled coffee and coffee liqueur. Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture and arrange a layer of soaked cookies in the bottom of a serving dish.
  6. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the cookies, then repeat with another layer of soaked cookies and the remaining mascarpone mixture.
  7. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight, to set.
  8. Before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder for garnish. Enjoy!
