Ingredients:
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 egg
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh basil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil for frying
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
- In a shallow dish, combine breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, and dried basil.
- In another dish, beat the egg.
- Dip each chicken breast in the beaten egg, then dredge in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing down to coat evenly.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Add chicken breasts and cook until golden brown on both sides, about 5 minutes per side.
- Transfer chicken to a baking dish and top each breast with marinara sauce, mozzarella cheese, and chopped basil.
- Bake in preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until chicken is cooked through and cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Serve hot with pasta or salad.
