Ingredients:

  • 1 pound of ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon of ground cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon of ground nutmeg
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 pie crust

Instructions:

  1. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef, onion, and garlic over medium heat until the beef is browned.
  2. Add the cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and pepper, and mix well.
  3. Let the mixture simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  5. Line a pie dish with the pie crust.
  6. Pour the beef mixture into the pie crust.
  7. Place another pie crust on top and crimp the edges to seal.
  8. Cut slits in the top crust to allow steam to escape.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown.
  10. Let the tourtière cool for a few minutes before serving.
