Turkey Pie with Nutmeg Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups cooked turkey, shredded
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 carrot, diced
  • 1 celery stalk, diced
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tsp nutmeg
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 sheet of puff pastry

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, sauté onion, carrot, and celery until softened.
  3. Add shredded turkey and peas to the skillet, stir to combine.
  4. Sprinkle flour over the turkey mixture, stir to coat.
  5. Pour in chicken broth and milk, stirring constantly until thickened.
  6. Add nutmeg, salt, and pepper, adjust seasoning to taste.
  7. Transfer turkey mixture to a baking dish.
  8. Roll out puff pastry and place on top of the turkey mixture, trimming any excess.
  9. Brush pastry with a beaten egg for a golden finish.
  10. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until pastry is golden brown.
