Ingredients:
- 2 medium sized apples, peeled and diced
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1/4 cup chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans work well)
Instructions:
- Sauté the Apples: In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the diced apples and cook until they begin to soften, about 5 minutes.
- Add the Spices: Sprinkle the nutmeg, cinnamon, and salt over the apples. Stir to evenly coat the apples with the spices.
- Sweeten: Drizzle the honey over the apples and continue cooking for another 2-3 minutes, until the apples are tender and caramelized.
- Finish with Nuts: Add the chopped nuts to the skillet and cook for an additional minute, stirring to combine.
- Serve: Remove from heat and transfer the apple hash to a serving dish. Enjoy as a side dish or as a topping for yogurt or oatmeal.
